How do you get spell check to check the spacing between words.  My spell
check is bypassing double spaces between words. HELP!

You don't.  One space or two ... either way it isn't a spelling error.

You can search for two spaces and replace with one.

Grammar checking can be set to check for double spaces between sentences.
This can be turned on to be done with spell checking. Otherwise, you can do
a Find for two spaces with a replace for one space.
