Transfering my word doc's to PDF...

Hi, I am using adobe acrobat to transfer my word doc's to PDF. But when they
are transfered all the comments are showing. When I go back into the document
there doesn't appear to be any comment. I think there is some setting that is
default showing comments on a document. Is there a way for me to turn this
off? I really need these documents in PDF and can't post them with these
annoying comment and red marks. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks,
Greg

Greg -

I also have Acrobat. I'm willing to see if I can figure it out. (I'm more a
hands-on kind of person.) If you want to accept my offer, send the file to
jl dot paules at gmail dot com.

There are several issues here:

1. If a document contains comments, then it will be displayed by default in
Final Showing Markup view. If you are in Print Layout or Web Layout view and
have balloons enabled, you should see the comments in balloons. If you print
directly from this view, by clicking on the Print button, you will get the
comments printed with the document. If you click Create Adobe PDF,
presumably the same thing will happen.

2. If you switch to Final view and print, you will not get the markup if you
click Print, and presumably the result will be the same if you use Create
Adobe PDF.

3. If you print from the Print dialog (using a physical printer or the Adobe
PDF printer), the default selection will be "Document showing markup." You
can change this to "Document."

4. To be absolutely on the safe side, you can use Delete All Comments in
Document to remove the comments before printing, either physically or to
PDF. You can do this in a copy of the document if you want to preserve the
comments.
