Every time I open a new document it has the same header.  i screwed up
something by puttin my name and it has somehow saved it as a template.  I
have tried everything.  I have tried to change the templates, restore
defaults, everything.  How do I get word to open with a regular blank page?

thanks for you help

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/BlankDocNotBlank.htm; note, however,
that just deleting the header text will not get rid of the empty paragraph.
For that, I'm afraid, you have to rename Normal.dot.
