I am having real problems getting a Word Document to display in Punjabi
properly. I have set all the language parameters to the seetings advised in
the help file but it still shows as a jumbled list of letters. What am I
doing wrong?

Would love to help on this but will need some additional details:
1) What version of Windows? Are you using Punjabi OK in other apps like
Wordpad?
2) What version of Word? (2003? 2007?)
3) Just to make sure we've got the bases covered on the language settings:
a) Complex Scripts languages are enabled on your version of Windows via
Control Panel->Regional and Language Settings->Language tab? i.e. the box is
checked for "Install files for complex scripts and right-to-left languages"
b) You've turned on Punjabi in the Office Language Settings app
c) When you open the file, the text that is showing as gibberish -- if you
select it, and choose Tools->Language->Set Language, does it show Punjabi
highlighted as the language of the text?
d) and is a Punjabi font applied to the text? (default Punjabi font is
"Raavi")
