I have received a doc that has had changes tracked by another inputter to
doc. How do I make my tracked changes stand out in a different colour so that
it is obvious which changes have been made by each of us

Check in Tools, Options, Track Changes and if the top right 3 "Colour" boxes
are selected as "By author", then your edits should automatically be a
different colour from any other author.
This is for 2003 and previous, instructions for 2007 may differ.
Hope this helps
