Got an attachment with dotm file extension. Running Office 2000 premium, with
file converter loaded, file opens as machine language.  Word viewer 2007
opens same result.  Any ideas?

There is a MS Office [2007] File Compatibility pack for Office 2000, Office XP and Office 2003 you can install from
http://microsoft.com/downloads that supports opening Office 2007 document files (.docx & .docm), but unfortunately(?) it doesn't
support the 2007 version Word template files (.dotx and .dotm).

You may want to ask the sender to resave as either a Word 2007 document or as a Word97-2003 document and send it to you  again.

Word 2007 templates are not compatible with earlier Word versions.
