I am using Word 2002 SP3. I had to reinstall windows 2000 Pro from a Dell
reinstallation cd (W2K +SP2), before I could reinstall Office XP. I went on
Windows Update and also downloaded all of the Hotfixes and updates since SP2.
(It was alot).

Now my graphics(on Windows) are blurry and I cannot write any text in Word.
Every character is blacked out across the page. It almost looks like
"selected Text" but is totally black and unreadable. This happens on every
line. This symptom has happened to 2 machines in my office. Both after
reinstalls from the same cd. Windows Update cannot find any new graphics
drivers.

Does anyone know why this is, and what I can do about it?

Thanks,
Rob Walker

Suzanne,
Thanks for the info; I actually needed to go to Dell's support website and
install an upgraded Bios, a Chipset, and a video driver.

It solved the issue. Thanks for you expedient response.

This is such an old issue that I suspected there might be some antiquated
hardware/software involved!
