Hi, Thanks both. However is there a way to make just the Style of selected
text appear? I find the screen is rather crowded even without the ribbon.
When I resize the Style window I have to scroll a lot as the relevant style
usually somewhere else in a long list.--

You can tear off the Style List with options, bottom corner of Styles
(Change Styles) on Home Tab and select all the same style if that is what
you require?

You can also use Find to search for a named Style if that helps.

Thanks, I have found that it is very useful to take your earlier suggestion
and have the style pane on the left in checking for inconsistencies in style
in the footnote area. But I am still surprised that this software does not
enable me to point at, or select, a line and be able to see the style in use,
although I can see the font, size of letters etc etc.
Could Find be used to check next instance of text which is NOT in the
required style, say of Footnote Text?

Have you added the Style command to the QAT yet?
