After applying heading 1 and heading 2 styles in a Word 2007 document, my
Table of Contents comes up with {TOC\o"1-3"'h'z'u}. I've made plenty of Table
of Contents and understand the concept but for some reason my rendering is
incomplete. Also I'm having trouble inserting cover pages and text boxes from
the quick parts.

That's the field code, and it should look like this: {TOC \o “1-3” \h \z \u }.
To display the results of the field, tat is you TOC, place your cursor in the
field and  press Alt + F9.
