I have a report where the page numbers continually change and I've been told
that if I click anywhere within the first dashed line and click CTRL+SHFT 'C'
the formatting with the number will copy down automatically, as follows:

CONTENTS
Political Overview
.................................................................1
Event Chronology .2
    Start October .2
    Mid October .2
    End October .2
Organisational Analysis .3
Financial Performance .4

It hasn't worked - any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Thank you

You also have to use Ctrl+Shift+V to paste the copied format. But you should
not be constructing your TOC by hand. See
