Hi
Have previously had no trouble scanning a document directly into Word97.
Now after upgrading to Word 2002 via Office XP I no longer can do this
except via Simple OCR - another OCR program and then only in two bites.
How can I get this functionality back please?

I think the files you want should be on the installation discs. On my
machine they are currently installed in

\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSPaper
as MSPVIEW and MSPSCAN

The shortcuts can be copied to the Office toolbar.

I suspect that upgrading to Word 2002 broke the links in the registry
that tell the OCR program where Word is. Now that Word 2002 is in
place, try reinstalling the OCR program to reestablish the links.
