Is there a way in Word to create an autocorrect feature that when ending a
sentence with a period followed by 2 spaces (instead of 1 space) Word will
correct to 1 space?  This would be in the APA format.  Thank you.

Not that I'm aware of. However, you can...
1) Turn on grammar checking and use the option for one space after periods.
This will give you a green wavy line under the extra spacing.
2) Not use the space bar to position text. Use tabs and indents instead.
3) Do a global replace after you have finished writing to replace two spaces
with one. This only works if you follow tip 2, though.
