How do I set my default language to 'English - India' folks? I did read
cindy meister's language formatting page but I'm kinda in a dilemma.because
the page says the Language should be set to the same in Windows. In Windows
XP there is no language such as 'English - India'. So what would be best to
do in such a scenario..I'm kinda puzzled. Ideally I want the US Keyboard to
stay and have an 'English - India' setting in Word. Any workaround for this?

Thanks

Rajesh

You can have a different keyboard layout than language setting, all you need
to do is select your preferred keyboard by clicking on "Add" and activating
the checkbox that allows you to change the keyboard (assuming WinXP)

I do see your point about no Windows language being the equivalent of
English-India, however. About all I can suggest is that you
   - choose the nearest equivalent (English - UK, I'd guess) as the default
for both Windows and Word
   - set up a template for Indian documents: change the language of the
Normal style to English - Indian

The only drawback of this approach is that the automatically presented new
documents won't have this language. But you could set up an AutoExec  macro in
your Normal.dot to create a new document from this template whenever Word is
started. And add a button to your toolbar to create additional new documents
from the same.

The basic line of code would be:

   Documents.Add "PathToTemplate\Name.dot"
