I have changed all the options relating to the spell checker and it only ends
up picking up some words and phrases as being mispelled but not all.
Whenever I intentionally mispell words in the document and perform another
spell check, it doesn't pick them up.

Anyone ever have this happen?

Once you have 'ignored' any word correction suggestion during a spell
session, the document file holds a record of it and won't detect that word
as wrong again, unless you clear the records by  Tools | Options | Recheck
document (that's the procedure in Word 2000 -- may differ slightly in other
versions).
