French language acceptance??

   Can anybody please tell me how I change the
dictionary from English to French - The option is not
available on the setup and I have change the options in
the  control panel allowing FR & EN. - Still I can't get
the French dictionary option.????????????

Your posting is confusing.  I think you need a setting within Word,
not the Windows control panel.

Set the language of a document by one of the following:

1.  Select all text (Ctrl-A in English Word) and then click Tools /
Language / Set language, and then select French.  (I would also turn
off the option, "Detect Language Automatically")

2.  For most documents, you can change the language in the Normal
style:  Format / Style, select Normal, Modify, Format, Language, then
as above.

3.  To make sure that all your new documents are automatically set to
French, then open the Normal.dot template file, change the language to
French (as in 2), and save it.

If you have Office 97 or earlier then you probably don't have French
proofing tools. For later versions, look up French in Help and follow the
instructions.
