I've tried reinstalling, downloading updates, and
repairing using disc and nothing has worked.

Basically the problem is that Word closes, not saving
current work, when the spelling/grammer tool is used from
pull down screen.

Has anyone else had this problem? Please contact me @
ajdiaz102@hotmail.com if possible, use "WORD SPELL HELP"
in subject text so I know its not spam.

Thanks...

Word and Windows versions? Which service packs have been applied? What
language spellchecker?

Please don't SHOUT: it's rude and harder to read. You still haven't
indicated the language of the spellchecker.

Does background spell-checking work? If not then you may have a corrupt
custom dictionary or spell-checker file. Reinstall/repair won't fix any of
those, so you would have to recopy the spelling files (msspell3.dll,
mssp3en.lex) from the Office CD to your Proof folder. Before copying, rename
the existing files so that the new copies don't lie on the same hard disk
sectors.

Also, you may have a corrupt default template: try running "winword /a" from
File Run.
