Spanish DIctionary reverts to US distionary

sPELL cHECK pROBLEMS hERE---
Hello--
Can you help me....???
have been running --
this WORD in XP for 8 months
and now the spanish disctionary goes away sometimes when I
am trying to check a spanish document that contains a few
ENglish words here and there--How can I make the Spanish
stay in the ON  position?

Hi JJoseph,

You might want to read the article on language formatting in
the Tips section of my website so that you get an idea of
what's involved with language formatting and spelling.

The first thing I'd check, specifically, in this case is
Tools/Language/Set language: is the checkbox activated that
automatically recognizes the language? If it is, then this
may be responsible for Word suddenly changing the language
formatting while the user types.
