Hi Monone,

What version of Word are you in?  What steps are
you following? (i.e. are you using Insert=>Picture=>From File ?
Using File=>Open on an EMF graphic file isn't supported.

Current versions of Word have the ability to open EMF
files without an additional filter.

Hi
I'm using Word 2003 and trying to import from recently installed i/o
software supplied with Logitech digital pen. My GRPHFLT file was short of
filters and now have included the filter for EMF conversion by using detect &
Repair. But still same error message. Thanks for your response logitech seem
to have given up!

Hi Monone,

As I mentioned, Word's capability for importing EMF files
is built in (i.e. it doesn't use the older .FLT file.

I'm still not clear on the method you're using to import
the EMF file.  Are you using Edit=>Paste Special or
Insert=>Picture=>From File?

What is the source of the .EMF file?

Hi

Note .flt files not needed for conversion, must have misinterpreted M/S KB
regarding graphics filters trouble shooting.

I have i/o software and a logitech digital pen. There is an interface in the
software to export .emf files to Word. When invoked the .emf image file is
supposed to appear in a Word document. Instead I get the error message.

Hi Monone,

Is this the Logitech IO or the IO2?  (The io2 software
has an 08Nov2004 date on the latest download).

From what I've seen using the
Actions=>Create a Microsoft Word document
from your notes is different than creating/exporting
an EMF (or other format) graphic
(Actions=>Create an Image).

If you follow the steps in this Logitech article
can you then use Insert=>Picture From File in Word
to insert the EMF?

http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/products/features/digitalwritingtopics/US/EN,C
RID=1557,parentCRID=1545,contentID=9329

If you have the pen synched to the PC and then
lasso items in your note can you use the copy function
in the io Pen and then Edit=>Paste Special?  If so,
what are the formats available in Edit=>Paste Special?

Hi Bob
Thanks your perseverance.

it's io not io2.
Following steps from Logitech article produces pages of symbols instead of
graphic.

Paste special Bitmap and Picture (Enhanced Metafile) If I select bmp it
works emf does
not work.

Hi Monone,

Hmmm, if you can't export to a separate EMF file
that you then can add to Word from
Insert=>Picture From file you may want to also
post in the Logitech io newsgroups at
http://forums.logitechio.com/index.html?l=en&c=usa
and include the pen and software version, the PC
make/model and version of Windows you're using.

It almost sounds like the OCR conversion is
being applied to the EMF (picture) portion of
your note.  Do you get the same paste results if
you start Word in safe mode (hold ctrl key when
starting Word?)

If you paste the graphic in Word as a bitmap and
then while it's still selected use Ctrl+X to cut
then Edit=>Paste Special and choose the Picture (EMF)
file type does it work correctly?

Hi Bob
Tried the Logitech uf - useless, the majority of posts are never
acknowledegd/answered, including mine.

In the hope you can still help me I have tried your suggestions:

Safe Mode - same result.

Paste special into emf produces error message.

Kind regards
