Autoshapes and Footers

I am creating a form to be used by employees. To make the form look
interesting, I have added a colored background and a large oval autoshape
that partially obscures the background. The autoshape keeps part of the
footer from showing/printing. Can this be fixed without turning the footer
into regular text? I am using Word 2003.

You may want to use Format=>Autoshape and either
adjust the transparency of the autoshape or set
it to have 'no fill', or right click it and set
the order to be 'behind text' as possible options.

In print layout view the header/footer will always
appear to be 'dimmed' compared to the active body text
work area.

Thanks Bob. I the first 2 options (adjusting the transparency and setting
the autoshape to have no fill) allow the darker background to show through.
I am trying to avoid this because it makes the form look too dark. The last
option still hides the footer. Do you have any other ideas? Thanks for your
help.
