I have some pictures saved on a disk from a friend of
mine.  It's saved on a file labeled .max, and I'm not able
to open it.  Is there anyway i can open it under this name
or change it to a jpeg or bitmap file? I have Microsoft
works word processor so i dont know what to do!

Hi Danielle,

There are a number of programs that create files
with a .MAX extension.  If these are scanned pictures
they may be Scansoft Paperport files and you could
download and use the Paperport viewer to see them.

Here?s three possibilities.  A quick guess will be the first on, usually
originating from a scanner combination.

Visioneer PaperPort File
Kinetix's 3D Studio MAX Scene
OrCAD Layout File
