Displaying images help (Word 2003)

....suddenly, when I insert an image (either an imported bitmap file or
Office clipart), I can't see it in my document unless I go to "Print
Preview".

Under the  Options | View tab, "drawings" is selected....

I'm probably missing something obvious, and would be grateful if
somebody would point out what:-)

Hi ropeyarn,

Under Tools|Options|View, make sure 'picture placeholders' is unchecked.

Thanks for the quick response.

Done....even restared Word and Windows....no images in view unless I go
to "Print Preview".

They do show up in the Thumbnails and Document Map view options (which
I've never usually used...but might have to start!)

I'm wondering if something has gone sour on my Word install...maybe it
needs a reload...
