Trying to insert an SVG file that was written in notepad as a link into a
word.doc. Any ideas would be welcome.

Part of the problem is that I cannot understand what you are trying to do.

Are you trying to insert an SVG file into a Word document? Or are you trying
to create a hyperlink to the file?

What do you mean by "self start"? If you want the image to be displayed when
you open the document, you'll have to insert it into the document, or use
some VBA to open it externally to the document.

Sorry, but I'm not going to be able to help you. As far as I know you can't
embed an SVG viewer right into Word, you can only embed the file as an OLE
object. This in turn relies on the reader opening the object to launch the
application and display the file.
