I can't find clip organizer on my file menu (word 2007).  I am trying to scan
in a graphic but must find clip organizer in order to do so.  Help!  Is it
something I have to add or should it have been there from the original

Are you certain you want the Organizer and not the Document Imaging program? If
it is the latter, go to the Control Panel, open the Remove or Add Programs
folder, scroll down to Office, click change.
Document Imaging is not installed by default.
The Organizer is found in the Office Tools folder.

Thank you for your help Mary.  I'm not certain what I want.  I know I would
like to scan in a graphic and I want to insert it into a Word document.  When
I went to Word help it told me to go to the File Menu (or the former File
Menu) and click on Clip Organizer and from there I would find prompts to add
a clip and I could tell it from Scanner.  BUT there is no Clip Organizer to
be found on my File Menu.

What version Word are you using? Office XP (2002) had a media disk, the
Organizer had its own setup on the media disk.
Maybe the Organizer was not installed if you did a custom install with Office
2003 or 07. Insert your setup disk, follow the prompts for change. Install the
Organizer.

Did you try to find the Organizer from the start menu? Start, Programs,
Microsoft Office Tools, Microsoft Clip Organizer. When the Organizer opens,
file, add clips, from camera or scanner.

The Clip Organizer isn't "necessary" unless you want to store the scanned
image there for future use. When you save the scan to any location you can
then use the Insert Tab & click Picture in the Illustrations Group. Navigate
to where the image is stored to insert it from there.

In Office 2007 apps you have no File Menu, so I'm not sure what Help you got
those instructions from, but here's the "real deal":

2007 Office systems

To start Clip Organizer in a 2007 Office application, click the Insert tab.
On the Illustrations group, click Clip Art, and then click Organize clips at
the bottom of the Clip Art task pane.
