I want to add vertical text inside a large arrow that is pointing downwards.
I cannot find any way to change the direction of the text (rotated by 90
degrees) inside the arrow.  Word Art won't do because I want plain Arial
text. Thanks!

In 2003 , Format/TextDirection rotates Text Boxes through 90. Has the
facility been removed/moved in 2007

After you create the arrow, right-click and choose "Add Text." When the
insertion point is in the text box (or actually when the arrow is selected),
you should see the Text Direction command on the left end of the Ribbon.
