Inserting a PDF as an Icon

When inserting a single page PDF in Word 2007 with Insert, Object, Create
from file and "Display as Icon" is *not* checked.  But I keep getting an Icon
rather than an image.  Same files work fine on another PC with same
configuration...  Anyone have any ideas as to why this would happen?

Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

Thanks in advance,

If you weren't getting anything at all, I would suggest Word Options,
Advanced tab, Show document content section, Show drawing and text boxes on
screen.

But, since you're getting an icon, this suggest that it might be a corrupted
registry entry problem. What happens if you start Word in Safe mode? Do you
get correct behavior then? (Hold down Ctrl as Word is starting, and click
Yes to starting in safe mode when prompted.)

Hello Herb,

Thanks for responding. I just tried Safe Mode in Word with the same results.
Another issue I have with this PC is not being able to update (remove a word)
the user dictionary. That could also be caused by a corrupt registry correct?

I have already done an uninstall/reinstall with no luck. Assuming it is a
corrupt Reg, what would I do to fix this?

Just found another issue that I believe is related. On this same PC every
time you start Access, it goes though the configuration process as though
Access has never been started. The uninstall/reinstall also did not fix this.
Hmmm….  Something fishy going on here….
