When I insert clip art from any source I can only see the
frame or picture placeholders. I am unable to format the
graphic because "Format Picture" is grey in the Format
menu. When I go to Print Preview the graphic is there,
but not in the document. Can anyone tell me what is
happening here?

Tools | Options | View:
1. Check the box for "Drawings."
2. Clear the box for "Picture placeholders."
