embedded media clips

I have created a document that has media clips (.avi files) embedded in it.

I assumed that when I saved the document that the media files would be
merged within the document.  That was not the case.  The separate .avi files
apparently must remain separate and available to the document in order to
function.

Is there anyway I can save this as a .doc file and have all those .avi files
"inside" the document?

If not, do I have to include all those individual video clips with the main
document when sending this to somebody?

Thanks!

I don't expect you to see this after so long - but although I have rea
elsewhere that it is not possible to actually embed video files i
Powerpoint (according to John Langhans they are apparently alway
links, even when 'link' is not selected!), I have found you can do i
in Word by inserting a 'package' object first, then copy the video fil
into that.  The 'object packager' interface is a bit obscure: copy th
media file you want (eg from explorer), then in packager d
'edit>paste' then 'file->update'.  This does seem to embed the file.
Now if I am right, why couldn't I find that info anywhere?

I am now off to try it in Powerpoint!
