when I search for clips online (insert > clipart > clips
online) download selected cliparts, then click "open"
the .cil file doesn't open in the window it should - it
tries to open itself in Imaging for Windows and has
error: "the document's format is invalid or not supported".

how do i get downloaded clips to open itself in Word's
clipart gallery?

further info:

using Word 2000 & Clipart Gallery v 5.

even double-clicking the ClipaArt.cil file on my hard
drive tries to open it in Imaging for Windows.

To reset the file association, please try the following:

Open My Computer from your desktop

Click VIEW | FOLDER OPTIONS (or Tools | FOLDER OPTIONS for WindowsXP)

Click the FILETYPES tab.

Scroll down and click on Clip Gallery Package, .CIL if you're using Office
2000 or below, or .MPF if you're using Office XP or later.

Click the "Change." button next to the "Open with:" Label.

Pick Microsoft Clip Organizer or Microsoft Clip Gallery from the list.

Click Ok.

Click Ok.

Thanks,

Eric Lawrence
