I need Polish characters in Word!

I still have not been able to get clear answer on how to get Polish
characters in my Word document. Is there a way to insert them as a
"Symbol" just as any other odd character? Do I need some type of
plug-in?

Did you follow any of my earlier suggestions? What didn't work or what
didn't you understand?

I did follow your suggestions, and the "Help" command didn't help at
all. I did some searching and can only type the characters I need in
TextEdit; however I can't copy and paste them into my Word document,
so I'm assuming I need some sort of plug-in or Language Program
.

Ideal situation: to insert the characters as a "Symbol," just as I had
before on a different computer (which is no longer with us).

Searching on "Polish" gives the following topic: "About creating a European
language document", which gives tips about installing keyboard layouts etc.
Did that not work?

No, because I still cannot type the correct characters. I have been able
to find a keyboard layout for Polish, but it does not contain the
characters I need.

Not really. Your answers are very terse. Why not tell us which characters
instead of leaving us to guess everything??
