Documents switch from English to Spanish or Portugese

This has happened to us twice.  Documents originated in
our office switch from English to Spanish or from English
to Portugese.  In both cases the users had checked "Detect
language automatically".  Has anyone seen this before?

Oh, sure. All the time! Your users need to deactivate
automatic language detection if you don't want this kind of
thing happening...
