Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
I wonder if you would help me out on the following two
problems.  I am running Windows xp Home Edition on Toshiba
Laptop.
1. I have a document which involved both Chinese and
English.  If I choose Style = Header 1, which I can preset
font=Time Roman, Bold, size = 16 etc., but if Header 1 is
to contain Chinese as well, where can I set the Chinese
font, size, and apparence in style?  Currently, I am doing
it manually and it works.  I want the style feature to
handle both languages.
2. I know I can generate an Table of Content within the
same document, say, it contains chapter 1, 2, 3, etc.,
but if chapter 1 is one file, chapter 2 is another file
and so as chapter 3, 4... a) how can I get the page number
to continue across files, and b) how can I generate an toc
either on a separate file or just before Chapter 1?
I would be grateful if anyone would suggest any solution.
Many thanks and Best Regards.

You'll find it more practical to create a different Style e.g. "Chinese
Header 1" if you want them to have different properties. You'll also be able
to set different language flags and have the proofing tools respond
appropriately.

You'd be better off posting these questions separately as they will usually
get the attention of different people.
This sounds like a Master Document exercise, but you should read this first:

For page numbering read
