How can I translate text in word file
to different language? Is it even possible?

The only built-in capability is in Word 2002 and later
versions, and that only translates single words.

There are automated web services that can do a
not-so-wonderful job. one example is www.babelfish.com (I
think that's how it's spelled). There are others; you could
search using google.com

But true translation still requires human judgement.
