I have a version 2002 cd "microsoft office proofing
tools". the PC on which I initially loaded the software
is toast/dead. Now that I want to reload on my new
computer it asks me for a number key, normally printed on
a label attached to the original packaging. That label
has been misplaced or lost. is there a way to get that
key from a file on the disk, or do you know whom else I
can address that question too.
Thanks a lot.

See the KnowledgeBase article "How to Obtain a New Product Key for Office
2000 Program Setup" at:

The same information applies to all versions.
