I have:
Microsoft Word 200 (9.0.3821 SR-1)
Microsoft Works 200
Wersja (Version) 5.0
Both are the Polish versions.
What happens is this: I type something in Russian in a
Word document using Times New Roman. I cut it and try to
paste it into one of the boxes in Baza Danych (Database).
No matter which font I have selected, it always comes out
as a string of question marks.
Even Teletext Russian does not work. I can type using
this font (although the keyboard configuration is no
longer the Russian typewriter arrangement I have in Word)
but as soon as I hit Enter, it changes to another string
of question marks.

This would indicate that the program is not a Unicode program, and that your
default system locale (named the "language for non-Unicode programs" in
WindowsXP and Windows Server 2003) is not set to Russian (or other locale
that supports the Russian default system code page).

Same issue. Question marks mean bad conversion from Unicode.

With that in mind, is there a way to convert Database so
that it accepts Unicode?
By the way, I forgot to mention that I am working under
Windows ME (PL), if that is any help.

As far as I know, you need to change products -- to find one that supports
Unicode. Like Jet (4.0) or SQL Server (7.0 or later).

If you cannot upgrade your Works to its Unicode version as MichKa
suggested, then you can use some work-around methods -
that 'question marks' problem *is* solvable, you are not the only
one who faces same problem while trying to do Copy/Paste between
Unicode and non-Unicode programs.
Please see Chapter 2 "Copy/Paste" in the "Unicode related issues"
section of my site.
