marking accents on French vowels

I have selected French language on the Microsoft Office ?
Sutdent and teacher Edition 2003. I am unable to mark
the accents on the vowels as I used to do with the
Microsoft Word 7.0 for Windows 95. I am now using
Windows XP. Thanks. I hope someone can supply the
answer. Dale

Hi Dale,

Try searching the Help on International characters and you
should turn up the built-in keyboard shortcuts.

I need more information, I think...

1. Which version of Word do you have (language as well as
number, please)?

2. Which version of Windows?

3. What keyboard layout do you use?

4. Can you give me a couple of examples of things you tried
that didn't work?

Thank you for replying!

Actually as I was faithfully answering your questions. I
realised that if I tried patiently enough I would somehow
coordinate the pressing of keys in such a way that there
was success!
