Unusal problem, a user of mine is inserting the mu(μ) symbol from Insert|Symbol (greek small letter mu) and types " immediately after it. This shows up as μ" . BUT when he uses a shortcut on the keyboard that he assigned (in this case Alt+M) it shows up as μ» , with the " turning to » . The 2nd option seems to keep the language in Greek and causes unusual typing issues. Any idea why this might be, and how to correct it? Any idea why >this might be, and how to correct it? Curious - this happens with all Greek and Cyrillic characters when you have Word set to replace stright quotes with smart quotes. This shows up as μ" . There are *two* characters that look alike: 181 = x00B5 micro sign 956 = x03BC Greek small letter mu I think you want the micro sign, not the Greek letter.  SignatureTop-posting. What's the most irritating thing on Usenet? He wants the Greek mu. It's a patent attorney. Hi KL, If "Tools > Language > Set Language > Detect language automatically" is checked, you might try if unchecking it solves the problem.
