Hi
Can anyone help me to set the default WordXP language to
UK English, when the keyboard layout is set to US in
Windows Control Panel. I have tried the normal method in
Word, i.e. tools, language, set default to UK English,
but always the normal.dot reverts to US English and new
documents come up as US English.  As far as I know I have
all necessary updates and service packs

Hi, Alison Rieple.  The language settings need to be the same in both
Windows and Word, or else the language in your Word documents will
change by itself.  See
http://homepage.swissonline.ch/cindymeister/LangFmt.htm, especially the
sections on "Predictable language formatting" and "Language formatting
in existing documents".
