How does one remove asian support from ms word.  This is a
feature I do not use.

If you have Word 2002 or 2003 and Windows XP, then click on Start | All
Programs | Microsoft Office Tools | Microsoft Office Language Settings |
Enabled Languages tab | <remove the languages you don't want from the
"Enabled languages" box>.

Was unable to figure out how to remove these features.
Used Help-->Detect and Repair-->Discard my customization
settings and restore default settings.

Well, I was hoping someone would jump in with a better idea.  Here is a
solution that I have read about, but have never tried personally.  I
strongly suggest that you BACK UP THE REGISTRY if you choose to try
this...  Close all open applications, run regedit, rename the key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\<version>\Common\LanguageResources,
exit regedit, restart Windows, and restart Word (Word should
automatically rebuild the key you just renamed with the factory default
settings).  Let me know if it works!

Thank you very much for the tip about renaming the registry key.  I made a
back-up first and then went for it!  It solved the problem I was having.  :-)
