Hello folks;
Scenario:
I am a tech writer working for a telecom company dealing with English user
manuals and guides. Currently I am using Word 2002. We have defined a style
for a new chapter, such that "CHAPTER #" is predefined for this style. Based
on this style, the page number is defined to reflect the chapter number. For
example, for chapter 2, the page number starts from 2-1, 2-2,...
Query:
We have received a document that is in a native language (Hindi.) The
problem arises when I am trying to define the word "Chapter" in Hindi. It
appears as small square boxes. I am not sure whether, it is not possible or
whether we need to get a Hindi language plug in. I would appreciate if the
members of this group could let me know the solution to this query. Please
mark your responses to praveengs@huawei.com
TIA,
praveen

Hi praveen,
When you set up the numbering, there's a button to set the font (which
therefore can be different from the font defined in the paragraph style).
You probably need to choose a font that contains the Hindi code pages.
