Hi
I have a user where the date format on her documents keeps changing. Her
Regional Options are set to Ireland, with short Date Format dd/mm/yy and
long date format of dd/mm/yyyy.
In a Word doc, if she goes to a footer, and clicks the Insert Date button,
the format will be incorrect. Mostly!
Sometimes its dd/mm/yy, which is fine, but often mm/dd/yy

I've used the PC myself, and seen the same problem. For example, I went to
the footer, and clicked Autotext - Authoer, Page #, Date
The date format was mm/dd/yy. Next I clicked 'Insert Date', and the format
was correct at dd/mm/yy! So date formats in the one footer.
This happens in new and edited documents.

Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks
Vayse

Hi Vayse,

First thing to check is the language of the text where the date is being
inserted. Go to Tools/Language/Set language and see which language is
selected?

Both English USA and English Ireland were in the top 'box'. I set the
default to English Ireland, and that seems to have fixed it.
Thanks!
