Outline numbering and hidden text font in MS Word
I often use Outline Numbered paragraphs in MS Word.
I want to hide some of the paragraphs in MS Word using
the Hidden font effect.
When (for example) paragraphs 3 through 5 are hidden, I'd
like paragraph #6 to appear as paragraph 3,
instead of continuing to appear as #6, i.e.:
1 Hello said the brown dog
2 Hello said the brown dog
6 Hello said the brown dog
Does anyone know how I can accomplish that?
I'd be pleased to pay for the answer.

Hi Marc
No, sorry. That's just the way Word works. My working theory as to why
this is the case is that "hidden" is a property of text, but "numbering"
is a property of a paragraph. So setting the text to hidden doesn't
affect the numbering of the paragraph; it just hides the text (and the
numbering) in the paragraph.
Hope this helps.
