Page Number in Footers

My manual is printing front and back page.  Am I able to alternate page
number in the footer from right to left, every other page?  (looks nice in
sample manuals I've seen).

Using Word 2002/XP

If you use Insert | Page Numbers, you can choose Outside or Inside as the
location for the page numbers, but use of Insert | Page Numbers is strongly
discouraged for documents of any complexity. Instead, on the Layout tab of
Page Setup, check the box for "Different odd and even." This will give you a
separate Odd Page Footer and Even Page Footer, so you can place the page
number and other footer text differently on odd and even pages (you can also
have different running heads in the Odd Page Header and Even Page Header).
