I need to change the default font on normal style in the normal.dot template
to Arial. The little box to the left
(Format/Style/Modify/Font ) bottom for Default is greyed out. How do I
ungrey it?

Thanks

Not sure I understand your issue, but the following might be helpful:

If you're actually modifying Normal.dot itself, then you don't need to check
this box. Changing the font of Normal in Normal.dot changes the default for
all documents based on Normal.dot. The box is there to accomplish the same
thing working from a document. See
