Sections 1 and 2 of my document are portrait and
landscape, respectively, but Word (page setup) wont let me
switch back to portrait in a new section.
Error msg. "Settings you chose for the left and right
margins, column spacing, or paragraph indents are too
large for the page width in some sections."
I've tried fiddling with section break types, margin
settings and tried copying in fresh portrait documents but
without success.
Anybobody been through this??

Hi George

I've experienced it! It seems to be a problem with a corruption in the
file somewhere. Good luck with finding it! There is an excellent
article at the MVP site:
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErrors/CorruptDoc.htm

I tried the suggestion about saving as a web page and then resaving as
a Word doc. It worked pretty well -- there will be some reformatting
to do, but I was allowed to change page orientation.

The problem -- which I hope one of the experts here will address -- is
that it DOUBLED the size of the file, which was already huge to begin
with. Do you all have any ideas about how to bring it back down to a
reasonable size?

Thanks!
