My document reads: Xxx xxx xxxxxxxxxx xxx applesauce xxxxxxxx xxx x xxxxx xx xx x applesauce xx xxxxx x xxx xxxx xx xx x. Xxx applesauce xxxx xxx xx xx xxxxx xxx xx x xxxxxx applesauce xxx xxx x xx xxxxxx xxxxxxx. Xxxxxxxx xxx applesauce xxxxxxxx xxx x xxxxx xx xx x applesauce xx xxxxx x xxx xxxx xx xx x. Xxx applesauce xxxx xxx xx xx xxxxx xxx xx x xxxxxx applesauce xxx xxx x xx xxxxxx xxxxxxx. I need all occurrences of the word "applesauce" to be replaced by hyperlinks (e.g. that transport the user to a bookmark in the document where "applesauce" is defined). All the hyperlinks will be the same. What's the fastest way to accomplish this replacement? Thanks very much, -Phil Phil, Use Edit>Replace. Format your first instance of applesauce with the hyperlink directed to the bookmark. Select the hyperlink text and copy with CTRL+c. With Edit>Replace, type applesause in the find what field. I'll throw in my "quicker" variant: instead of using the clipboard, use an empty "replace" box and apply the "hyperlink" character style to it. All in all, no big difference; you'll hit uppercase applesauces that way, too (or: you won't change cases for any one you hit, actually). Greg is right of course: I must have missed the parenthesis in the OP (and been a bit distracted: without a target, what sense would a hyperlink style make?). The style itself does not yield a target (not even a field code, even if the text was an URI); there's no way Word could guess we wanted to hyperlink to a bookmark here, hence it works as should be expected and does not hyperlink anywhere.
