Weird text formatting

I am writing this on behalf of a friend who is using
office 97.  Everytime she comes to edit her essay, the
text is in blue and underlined and nothing will shift it,
however, when the document is copied into a new page it's
fine.

Does she have the "track changes" option turned on?

Tell her to make sure to Accept All Changes in Document after turning Track
Changes off.
