Hi,

If I edit my 400 page document (in the master), I create new sections now
and then, or merge others. However, every time a new section is created, its
header and footer are automatically coupled to the previous one. This enoys
me because if I delete a section-end without decoupling it first, all the
other section headers and footers change...
Is it possible to set somewhere that all new sections should be decoupled?

thanks.

You're unlikely to get an answer here, see these links for why:

Why Master Documents corrupt

How to recover a Master Document

BUT, please also send feedback to MS asking for a way to set defaults for
sections other than manually entering each section and changing it--I think
that would be an excellent feature.  Backup your MD first, though.
