Hi,

I am using word 2003 and in that I have a master document
in which i have put a bookmark.
I am inserting another document at the bookmark place. It
very well copies the whole inserted document's content but
not header-footer.
Any suggestion to do that??

Thx.

Hi,

First, on master documents:
Signature

"Master Document" is a term of art in Word referring to a "feature" that not
only doesn't work but also destroys documents. The consensus (with the
limited exception of Steve Hudson) among those offering advice on these
newsgroups is that using the Master Document feature is a sure way to
destroy your document. It can destroy parts of your document that you are
not even working on! I think John McGhie said it succinctly when he said
that there are two kinds of Master Documents: Those that are corrupt and
those that will be corrupt soon. See <URL:
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/General/WhyMasterDocsCorrupt.htm> for
information on what goes wrong, and <URL:
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/General/RecoverMasterDocs.htm#CopyText> for
ideas on how to salvage what you can.

Second, headers and footers...

See <URL: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/WorkWithSections.htm> and

And that's the complete quote my newsreader yields!

Just wanted to point out that using "-- " in a Usenet post will mark the
rest as a signature – I really thought you had quite a long one at first
glance! :-)

Just wanted to let you know; there's nothing to contribute to the
answer, as usual.

Hi Robert,

Thank you. I'll keep that in mind. A number of my more frequent replies are
generated as OE signatures. I'll have to pull the signature marking out.
