Table of Contents is wrong in printout

A user reported a problem where she said she updated her
TOC and it was correct on screen, yet the last 7 entries
in her TOC were pointing to page 47.  Two of the 7 appear
on page 47 but the other 5 appear on subsequent pages.

On screen it's correct, but the printout is incorrect.
Worse, I regenerated the table and cannot duplicate the
problem.  Are there any known issues where the TOC points
to the wrong page numbers?  Any help at all would be
greatly appreciated.

Hi Carley

I haven't heard of Tables of Contents doing things like this. But there
is a vaguely similar bug in Word 2002 (which may have been corrected
with later service packs) that prints all the page numbers as 0. Maybe
the following will help:

Page numbers display as 0

Hope this helps.

Shauna,

Thanks so much for your reply.  In this document, I don't
have any of the scenarios listed, and I am using Word
2002.  I haven't seen this happen elsewhere with any
other document (and we support 100+ users in a legal
environment who use the TOC function often!)  The
document had a bit of run in with corruption prior to
this problem surfacing that we attempted to correct using
the "select all but the last paragraph mark, paste into
new blank document" fix.  I imagine it may just be some
corruption hanging around.  The worst is that I cannot
duplicate it--now that the TOC has been updated, it's
fine on both screen and printout!  Plus, I can't be 100%
certain that the user did update the TOC prior to
printing.  I feel like I'm chasing my tail, so I'm
chalking it up as a fluke and moving on.

Thanks again for your help!
