hi- i have a long document that i keep changing and adding footnotes to. for example, i have one footnote that says "see footnote number 35" but later that will be a different footnote number. is it possible to make this change automatically? thanks- marcela Yes. Use Insert | Cross-reference (Insert | Reference | Cross-reference in Word 2002 and above) to Footnote: Footnote number. This will then update as your footnote numbering changes. -- Suzanne S.
